I’m of mixed feelings on this new development. Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl spent five years as a captive by the Taliban, and released this past May in a deal that many of the public – and a good portion of lawmakers – claim was illegal. Five Taliban prisoners were exchanged for one American – I don’t argue that on principle, but why wait for so long, and for one who was accused of deserting his post? I hate bullshit. And I must state that my bullshit meter gets enough use that the warning alarms are ringing in my ears right now. It’s why I research any topic I come across to death. Basically, I can’t fathom how some people can really make up their opinions when they don’t truly know all the facts.
But some hoplophobes seem just hell-bent on providing misinformation and or outright lies. In this “PSA”, the anti-gun groups are trying to associate the guns they “sell” with the crimes, as if the guns themselves committed them. So it was recently discovered that approximately 6.5 Million social security numbers were still active. But they belonged to an interesting demographic: people 112-years or older. In other words, over 99% of the people belonging to these numbers are certainly dead by now.
Okay, I used to be a uTorrent user for many years, until last year. I switched, but not due to this issue. I was just tired of the ads they had going on. But now, there’s a new reason to avoid uTorrent (and it’s not about ads for file sharing). Continue reading Remove uTorrent’s EpicScale Crapware
So, it seems that the Anthem breach, now recognized as the largest in the history of the medical industry, may have some more explaining to do – but they don’t appear as if they will.
So, being a firearm owner and shooter myself (the two terms are not interchangeable), the news that the ATF was attempting to ban the popular M855 ammo came as seriously concerning.
For those not in the know, the M855 ammo is the “green-tip” ammo that is basically military surplus ammo shot through the M16/M4 platforms. It’s a commonly purchased round for civilian shooters to use in their AR15 rifles, due to its low relative cost. But the ATF sought to change the availability of this ammo. In a move that just reminds us 80’s kids of a whole lot of popcorn, Lockheed Martin has developed and tested a laser weapon cable of destroying vehicles from over a mile away. (video) Continue reading Real Genius? Where’s the House Full of Popcorn?
…let’s see if common sense prevails
Looks like University of California’s legislative body, a student-filled government elected by students, voted to pass bill R50-70 to ban the flying of any flag of any nation in their lobby. It also went on to say that any decoration that causes an issue whatsoever will be removed.
All all of this with just twelve students voting for 30,000 students enrolled there. And what’s worse, only half actually voted for the ban, with two not voting at all.

I can’t begin to explain how scary of a situation this is. What truly scares me is not the possible union (there is no public response from ISIS, yet), but the sheer sense this makes for Boko Haram and ISIS.
Well, after a few weeks of having server and DNS issues, I’ve decided to completely move to a Dreamhost plan. They were offering a kick-ass deal with Lifehacker readers, so I took them up on the offer.
The new URL is officially http://ryancash.co, but the old url, http://ryancash.tk will still redirect here almost seamlessly.
Stay safe and sane!
